Shaykh Saqib Khan is a resident of Lodi, California, who has dedicated his life to the study, teaching, and service of Islamic knowledge.
At the age of five, his father took him to Pakistan to begin his formal Islamic education. He memorized the Qur’an at a young age, followed by structured studies in Tajweed and Urdu.
He then pursued higher Islamic studies at Darul Uloom al Islamiyah under the supervision of Maulana Saeed ur Rahman.
He later earned a Master’s degree in Islamic Studies from the world-renowned Darul Uloom Karachi, where he studied under his esteemed teacher, Mufti Taqi Uthmani.
He also completed a Master’s degree in Qur’an Tafseer from Darul Qur’an. Shaykh Saqib received ijazah (scholarly authorization) from distinguished scholars including Muhammad Tayyib Tahiri, Maulana Ghulam Habeeb, Maulana Saeed ur Rahman Khateeb, and Maulana Muhammad Jajarvi.
He studied the Ten Qira’at at Darul Uloom Karachi under Qari Khalil ur Rahman Dervi and received ijazah in Qira’ah from M. Abdullah Saleem, former teacher at Darul Uloom Deoband.
In the field of Hadith, he has received ijazat from leading scholars including Mufti Taqi Uthmani, Mufti Rafi Uthmani, Mufti Mahmoud Ashraf, Shaykh Saleemullah Khan, M. Abdullah Saleem, Maulana Abu Qasim Nomani (Principal of Darul Uloom Deoband), Maulana Abdul Haleem Chishti, Maulana Zahoor ul Haq Daman, Maulana Aziz ur Rahman Swati, Maulana Rasheed Saifi, Maulana Abdur Rauf Sakhrawi, and Maulana Ayyub Surti (UK), among others.
Over the years, Shaykh Saqib has served in a number of teaching and leadership roles. His experience includes:
• Teaching at Lodi Masjid for four years and serving as Imam there for one year
• Teaching in Folsom for one year
• Teaching for five years at Masjid Annur, Sacramento
• Teaching higher Islamic education for seven years at Darul Uloom al Islamiyah
• Teaching at California Islamic Center (CIC) for four years prior to its official opening
• Serving as Imam at Masjid ar Rahman, Richmond for two years
He has also led Taraweeh prayers in multiple communities, including two years in Lodi, six years in Richmond, two years at CIC, and in other locations.
For the past four years, Shaykh Saqib has been serving as the Imam of California Islamic Center (CIC), where he continues to teach, guide, and serve the community through religious education, youth development, and community programs.
Alongside his teaching and community service, he is pursuing specialization in Ifta, receiving advanced training in issuing Islamic legal rulings, with a focus on classical Hanafi jurisprudence and contemporary issues faced by Muslims today.
